Why Are Non-Arizonans So Heated Over AZ Senate Bill 1070, If They've Never Lived Here?

"DAVIS" Why would the trained, professional police and sherriffs of Arizona arrest men eating their lunch? There is no need for even "LAWFUL CONTACT" in your scenario, and the police here typically don't spend time on small talk to workers at lunch, 'what' with all the more serious crime for which they are involved!

What is silly is how many of YOU (along with AL Sharpton leading the charge??) assume OUR police are not trained professionals! Even MORE pathetic is our own state leaders, sports teams, and entities that have the same negative opinion of those who keep our city SAFE for them to cow-tow in as freely as we can and do here (Mayor Phil..., Mr. Lopez, and Mr. Rodriguez, Mr. Trejo and all your Hollywood buddies... )!  I highly respect those members of my family who SERVED and PROTECTED! I often turn to them for advice on how to quell situations, with all the logical thinking they've been trained to use!

AMAZING--ALL OF YOU with your outside opinions of how this always mexican-influenced, beautiful, multi-cultured, racially diverse, proud and hard-working "community" of people should mange its problems with illegal immigration.  Arizona has been adversly portrayed by the media and you "sb1070non-supporters" as overly-populated with white racists, when NO ONE who loves "Arizona, USA" (LIKE I DO) wants to keep suffering from the results of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!

COME LIVE IN THE SHOES OF 70% OF US WHO L I V E why we need LEGAL RECOURSE for the high number of MEXICAN ILLEGALS in Arizona WHO CHOOSE TO BE BLATANT ABOUT THEIR ILLEGAL STATUS, and expect we in AZ--family, friend, neighbor, citizen--ARE TO JUST TOLERATE IT as they stay or pass through.. Then blame, blame, BLAME US (?) for the status in which they've now left THEIR OWN CHILDREN... !   After you're here 50 years (!) THEN talk and blog and post your comments on how awful are we, the supporters of AZ SB 1070.

Beck v Ohio: "good faith on the part of the arresting officer is not enough. If subjective good faith alone were the test, the protections of the Fourth Amendment would evaporate, and the people would be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, only in the discretion of the police."

So, let's say there is a Home Depot where illegal immigrants hang out looking for work. This same Home Depot employees legal immigrants who gather outside wearing no uniforms on their lunch break.

The Arizona law basically states that law enforcement not only could but SHOULD go to both groups and demand proof of citizenship.
